The first annual Push and Load in Park City event was a huge success!

On Competition Day, the final day of the week long event which included coached practice sessions, physical assessments, and classroom like seminars, the weather was gorgeous, the atmosphere electric and the competition intense as forty six different athletes competed in five different events. More than 100 spectators cheered them on and local media recorded the action and interviewed the sports’ stars. The Mayor of Park City got a push from Olympic Medalist Todd Hays to start the competition, and the Queen of the Park City track, Kim Luther, announced the race as her swan song before making the move to Lake Placid. National Team members, Devo athletes and brand new athletes joined in on the fun as many personal bests were recorded on the Push Track. In the end, athletes and spectators sat down for wonderful lunch and award ceremony that honored the top three finishers of each event and a couple of Rookie MVP’s. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Special thanks to our event sponsors, The Shea Foundation, Granite Construction and Done to Your Taste Catering, and to The Utah Olympic Park and the US Bobsled and Skeleton Federation for their support.

Now, bring on the ice!
